    Well I already went to gateway support. WELL THAT ING HELPED! No really first she told me that my pc (specs in sig) couldn't handle l4d or cod5waw. I mean come on! Then she looked up my specs and then said that if my computer can function properly without running the games then I need to contact Valve and Activision and light their of fire. What the hell is that going to do? I am pissed. What is the problem? When I play graphical 3d games my computer turns off randomly. When I am browsing the web and other things it runs fine. Please help.

    Its overheating. Check your temps with HWMonitor.

    Btw its illegal to have OS X on non apple hardware, as noted in your sig. It is against forum rules.

    Monitor your idle and max temps for the cpu/gpu

    If they exceed higher than 95c then thats whats causing the shut off. If thats the case then you probably need to clean your fans, re-apply paste and reseat the gpu, etc.

    Random shutting down is problem of overheating, try de-volting your computer.

    Have fun with Windows 7, my advice get rid of it. Unless you did manage to read the TOS. Seeing how
    you have quad boot, doubtful you did - would suggest re-reading it before quad booting :)

    No problem bro. A can of air from your local PC store werks well, or @20PSI from your garage compressor in short controlled bursts.

    Also don't play with your lappy on a couch or similarly insulating surface.

    it was constantly increasing. i quit left 4 dead to check and my gpu was 85 degrees celcius.

    @kimosabe55
    yea i know, i found out those "things" on the bottom suck in air. so when u have it on ur lap ur clothes block them from sucking in air. right?

    First I'd like to say...goodspeed, you crack me up. "I can overclock your toaster" that is some funny sht.
    Secondly...I am having a reboot issue with my P-6860FX also. Gateway is useless. They had it 3 times and didn't/couldn't fix sht. I had mine 16 days before issue started and still wont replace it. Is this a common issue with this model.
