    hello all-
I have a one year old (as of 9/3) CX2724 Tablet PC with 80GHD, 1G RAM, internal wireless, Microsoft XP Tablet edition, etc...Well, it was working GREAT for the entire year w/ no issues, but recently I installed my new subscriptions of Webroot and Symantec Internet Security and it has been freezing up at times when I have windows apps (word) open with a couple other programs open. Prior to the installation of current subscriptions the freezing had happened a couple times, but not with enough regularity to take notice. When the 'freeze' happens, the little blue HD lite comes on and the HD runs continuously. The only fix is to turn it off.
I went through the diagnostic with Symantec thinking that could be the issue because I purchased the software that was a 'step up' from what I had purchased the year before and they said that I had no program issues and everything was fine. The tech guy in my dept. at school thought it might be a bad HD or bad RAM, so I took it to Best Buy where I purchased it (I have the 3yr extended warr) so they could check it out.
They kept it for a WEEK and told me that my HD and RAM were okay, but that I was missing some dll files for my OS. I reinstalled my OS (which was a PAIN because the CD did not work well and we had to go download drivers from the gateway site), and everything worked fine for a few days...then had wireless issues (which are okay now), but still getting the freeze up occasionally.
Any advice? I'm ready to throw this machine through the window!

considering that ur "new subscriptions of Webroot and Symantec Internet Security" started causing the freezing, have u considered just removing them first and see?

    cheers ...
