Hey guys, I am trying to downgrade vista to win xp pro. I almost succesfully downgraded, but I didn't have all the necessary drivers to make the sound, networking work. If anyone that has a successfully 6860fx model downgraded to WinXP before please help me out on linking me to downloading all the right drivers? Thanks, it would be greatly appreciated.

i figure i can run everything faster, and when i play games on Steam like CS:Source and such, it will probably run smoother and alot cooler. unless you suggest I should be full install win7 pro. or ultimate 64bit.

Are you still on the stock cpu? CS:Source is held back a lot by the stock cpu. with my upgraded cpu i can play css at 100+ fps even in 30+ player servers.

t9600 will not work with our chipset. you can find a x9000 on ebay but be careful because some guy is selling a ES cpu and saying its oem. the only ES x9000 that is good is a Q174.

I would stick with a 64bit OS and take the time to strip it down and get it running leaner.

Like already mentioned, for gaming, hardware is usually culprit for disappointing performance.
