New member and first time poster here. I hoping to get some help from some of you computer wizzards.

I've created a movie using the movie maker and I now want to copy onto a DVD to I can watch on the TV.

....But, I'm so computer dummy that I either can't figure it out, or I can't do it from my laptop and might need an external DVD burner?

The one I manage to create I can only watch on the computer, but if I pop it into the TV DVD player, it gives me a disc error message.

    I have a : emachines eMe625-5192 Notebook PC - AMD Athlon 64 TF-20 1.6GHz, 3GB DDR2, 250GB Hdd, DL DVDRW, 15.6", Windows Vista Basic

    What a I doing wrong?!

    All the help is appreaciated.

    Thanks a bunch!

    -Bayunca

Well... first check the capabilities of the DVD player, because it might not be a burning problem, but more of a playback problem. If you read that the player will take a certain type of DVD, it should work? Check this out first, and I will help you after you report back unless the problem is solved...

Gosh, thank your for offering to help.

The DVD doesn't seem to be the problem.

When attempting to publish the movie, it states that it can play back in the computer or on equipment that supports WVM.

I think that because I have the Vista home basic, I'm not able to do it, but if I upgrade, I could.

    What do you think?

Just about every dvd player on the planet will support WMV playback, though I don't think ps2's will. Alternatively if that doesn't work try converting the video using nero. nero's got a trial and is significantly cheaper than buying a new OS.
