    Hi,
I'm trying to do a complete system restore on my gateway.
F11 at boot wont work, so now I'm trying GRC, but when I select system restore and click yes to restart my computer to begin with the restore, it just restarts my computer and boots normally.
    Nothing else happens.

Can anyone help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated

Your just trying to wipe everything? Why not just boot to a windows disc and have it reinstall the OS?

Well there are two reasons I can't do that
I dont want to wipe verything, I just want it back at factory defaults, keeping the OS and things.
and I also do not have a recovery/windows cd. Didnt come with one

Open elevated command prompt (run as admin)
    type - sfc /scannow

    or

    Open the Start Menu.
Click All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore

    or

Start Search area, type rstrui and press Enter.
rsrui is the EXE file for System Restore. C:\Windows\System32\rstrui.exe

***this is if you have system restore on and have restore points.

If that doesnt work I would find an vista iso and do a recovery from the disk. If the recovery option not working at all you can use the vista iso to do an upgrade which will work for sure.

System restore works, but I want to do a destructive restore, set it all back to factory defaults.
Its the gateway recovery center that isnt working, it wont boot into recovery mode.

I read through the manual. Try Alt + f10 or read page 103 of the pdf guide.
