Greetings everyone. I was trying to install Windows 7 on my laptop this evening with the Upgrade option of the Windows 7 installation disk. After it checks for compatibility it gives me this message:

The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.
For these items, make the following changes:
Uninstall these programs. Open Control Panel and search for "uninstall a program".
    Kaspersky Anti-Virus

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs:
These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.
    Storage controllers: ABS7FR68 IDE Controller

I looked up for the IDE controller drivers and found nothing on the web.

I advice doing a clean install after backing up your files. Upgrading is gonna leave a lot of junk files that you wont know about and its gonna take a hell lot of time. Just write down the list of applications that you want to reinstall and go ahead. Unless you really want to do an upgrade.

Yea I'm going to do the upgrade, and I found a partial solution to my problem with the IDE controller. This driver Cardreader_O2_v.3.31.02_7a should work with win7 but now comes the question of the Anti-virus. I would like to keep this installation as well, as I have spent a lot of time setting all the rules for all of my applications. Anyone manage to upgrade to win7 without uninstalling their antivir?
