I have a Gateway MS2252 that was recently given to me, and I'm having a bit of a problem. The screen will suddenly start displaying little white lines that flicker randomly accross the screen, then it will go black after about 15 seconds and become unresponsive. It has popped up a few times and mentioned a driver that stopped working, but I can't remember the name of it. It's definitely an nvidia driver, though. It seemed to only do this when I'm using Java, Shockwave, or Flash, though. Now, however, I just logged on and hadn't done anything and it went to the black screen. When it does this, it will turn the screen off (there is no backlighting) then back on. The screen will be black, but still backlit, and it will display only my mouse cursor, which I can move without any lag or delay. It continuously switches back and forth from having the display on to having it off, and the intervals are random.

Any idea what is causing this and if it's fixable?
