I've noticed that when I am gaming sometimes I'll start to get lower Frames out of nowhere.
So I checked my temps and "ACPI" is at 98 celcius but then it jumps down to like 74 after closing a game. All my other temps for CPU, GPU, and hard drive seem reasonable.
Is this an error that could cause GPU underclocking or something?
is there a way to fix this?

it can be dust bunnies, take canned air to the vents and clean it out. Maybe a notebook cooler may help as well. Also maybe adding new thermal paste to the chipset and cpu should drop those temps, ohh and dont forget to undervolt the cpu. I do all of those and I have fairly cool temps, I will apply new thermal paste when my new cpu gets here.

You should use RMClock Utility to undervoltage your CPU, and clean dust on cooler too ^^

That sounds like dust has formed around the fan system. You need to follow one of the guides on here and open her up and take a look.
There is a lot of good information online about how to do this including pictures if you search here and through google.

My cpu is undervolted to .93V and is stable. CPU temps run on normal tasks 90-100F and up to 120s (I think) gaming and thats the P8400 not the T9900 as I'm waiting for it to come.

    Ok thanks guys.
I was wondering because I think I had read somewhere that there was an error/glitch with one of the ACPI sensors in this model laptop.
I'll probably clean the inside this weekend and hopefully everything will be better.
I was thinking of applying new thermal paste probably ICD7 (I've read its very good)
As for under clocking I've read guides but I just haven't really tried to go through the whole process.

The undervolting is easy, just follow the steps and you should see a big drop in temps.
