Use a flathead screwdriver and turn the seating screw (to the left of the cpu itself) 90 degrees, then the cpu should pop right out.

You are supposed to use an amount the size of an uncooked grain of rice. The chip to the right is the northbridge, if it has a cooling PAD on it (a thick blue foam-y pad) then leave it there. Otherwise put the same amount of artic silver on that Die as well.

No, there is a gap on the northbridge to the heatsink, if the pad is not there you need a new pad or something like ICD7 there................

I'm wondering if Zandramas looked at the Youtube video?

It showed using ICD7 on the Northbridge heatsink.

Will i get much better colling performance by using the IC Diamond 24 Carat Thermal Compound over the cheaper one? and is there a concistency difference, because i don't want to take hours to get it on the cpu and northbridge? one more thing will i have to use additional amount in the northbridge to fill the gap? Any answer will be appreciated i wanna test drive my new cpu soon. If it matters i'm goint to install a T9900

A lot of users have reported temperature decreases after ICD7 application. ICD7 is REALLY thick; kinda like a very viscous McD milkshake. I personally put my tube in a plastic bag and boiled it in water for about 5-10mins to "loosen" it up a bit prior to application.

I haven't seen a temp. decrease in my application but other X9100 users have which is why i'll be reapplying it soon.

I used the same amount of ICD7 on my X9100 and northbridge; a pea-sized blob - a little larger than the size of a Skittle/M&M. ICD7 application took no longer than 30mins including cleaning off old TIM with Arcticlean.
