I have the p6831fx and I was at 50+ something after disabling a bunch of services (is there more crap on the 6860? :D )

A clean install with the Gateway disc gave me under 40, approx 38.

After adding anti-virus, java, and some other programs its up to 43 - 45 something.

Well, this isn't start up for me, but I have 59 processes now. This is with Opera open, and Hardware monitoring from Riva Tuner.

I didn't disable any MS services... It doesn't take up a lot anyway. Only have 4-5 startup items in msconfig. boot time is same as johnksss but I have dual-booting on, so it's another 1-2seconds on the OS selection screen. :)

running 8%10% on cores, and around 20-30% on memory. avast! on-access scanner takes it up to an additonal 5-10% load on memory, but stays the same on CPU load.
