If you install Vista onto the other drive it should replace the XP bootloader with the Vista one automatically. It should automatically add XP as a choice in bootup but worst case you can get Easy BCD and edit the bootup settings to add the XP install.

Hrmmm.. Now when I reset it just loads up to XP. No choices.

I have EasyBCD and VistaBootLoader. I guess, I would prefer to use EasyBCD.

However, I am not sure what to do to configure and I sure in the hell don't want to mess something up and have to reinstall anything. Is there a write up on this or tutorial?

    Thanks Mike.

    Update:

I just actually caught what you were saying.. Install vista onto other drive and then it will then give option at boot to select OS.. Am I hearing you right?

Right, once you install Vista on the other drive Vista will automatically overwrite the XP bootloader with its own, and it SHOULD automatically add XP to the boot options and bring up a text screen asking you to pick an operating system on each boot. You can then customize the settings with EasyBCD.

Success Mike. Fresh install of Vista. Had to use EasyBCD to modify the bootloader cause it was just booting into Vista, but I managed to get it figured out and I now have a successful dual boot. Thank you for all your help.

Now, time to finish customizing.. ugh.. the fun part.

    Happy New Year!

Hey Mike, Mine still say IDE. How do I go about upgrading these drivers? I downloaded the folder and right clicked on Primary IDE Channel and pointed to the d/led folder but said could not find better driver.

    Am I missing something?

if you opt for a full manual driver install you should be able to point it to the driver folder and pick the AHCI driver instead of the IDE driver, I don't have an XP install running anymore so I can't really walk you through it unfortunately.
