Pop off the larger of the 2 covers and the CPU will be right there. Its pretty much a no brainer and since you have done desktops before it will be even easier. Theres little numbers on each CPU screw and the Northbridge screw so just follow those when putting it back together. When you first pull off the heatsink pull it off very gently so you dont damage the thermal pad on the bridge that way you can reuse it .

    Thanks, man.

Coop, I would leave the bios alone at first. If you changed it already, no biggie, but would be good to see it recgonize the cpu first.

Any of the BIOS'S will recognize the chip.

    That $279 T9600 chip is an ES? That's a good price! I paid $400 for my X9100!

Nope, not an ES. It is a new/unsed opened retail box cpu. ES cpu's are too much of a crap shoot.

The seller had it posted in the "desktop cpu" section of eBay, with a starting bid of $300 and it ended at almost 1am. No one bid until like 5 mintues left, I was the third bidder at $310. Then I used the 10% off eBay promo.

    So basically lucked out.
