    Hello everyone!
I recently got my P-6860 last week from TigerDirect.ca and so far so good!

I was thinking, after a couple of weeks, how would I go about cleaning the dust on the machine (fans, etc.) to keep it from overheating?

Would I require the use of compressed air? Im kind of scared pushing the dust further into the machine.

I would definitely appreciate it! Thanks! ;)

To the clean the CPU vent, you open the back - take out the entire heatsink and blow through the exhaust... The dust will be easilly visible :)

I cleaned my GPU fan, by taking a hairdrier (innovative, i know :p ) , set the mode on cool air - and let rip through the exhaust on the left side (not through the air-intake on the bottom)... Not sure if blowing through the intake would work, but thats not how I did it :)

My method of cleaning out the GPU fan, does work. It lowered my temps from 95c max temp to around 70c.

Why not use compressed air on the GPU as well?
I have to figure out if my hairdryer has a cool-blow option :D

I use my army of diminuative gremlins to eat the dust away. This saves alot on bills as i dont pay for a cleaning lady or trash collecting with them around.

but for "normal" people with out the benifits of a gremlin army phasio's idea works great too. :p

Though i typically recommend canned air over a hairdryer (worried about static)

The reasons as to why I use a hairdrier are quite simple.

    1. It works.
    2. I am lazy.
    3. See above, add cheap.

The day that I am paying for canned air.. PUH-LEASE! Unless Im going diving, then I aint paying for air ;)

Btw Kamin... LOOL @ Your personal gremlin army.. :D

That's not fair! Where can I get one?

Canned air is obviously the better choice from hiring gremlins. First off its cheaper, and secondly they don't go by the hour. :D

Those aren't actually gremlins... They are dust mites, and that is disgusting :p
