    fellas I am pretty new to computers and I am very interested in them I like to update and make them run faster but I need some teaching so please put your info here if you would like to share your knowledge.

    Hey fellas, I have been reading allot of threads on this 3dmark06 where can i get that software and is it free.

    Also, I have heard of a software that you can download for free that will tell you if you need to update your drivers is there anything out there like that. If so can you please tell me were.

    System Defrag
    Clear Unessesary programs
    Go to msconfig and disable unneeded startup programs (experienced users only)
    Scan for Viruses, spyware, adware.
    Disk Cleanup

    Also, you can upgrade your HDD to a faster RPM. If your CPU is upgradable, there is an option. More RAM (memory).

    More RAM is probably the easiest as far as hardware upgrades; Les is right on with the tweak thread, which will help with most of the other suggestions on this page.

    What is the model of your laptop(also list the specification/configuration if you can)?

    You can benchmark you computer with these programs but if you bought a low end(cheap) machine, then there is no point

    I think your notebook is fast enough. :)

    The only possible place for hardware improvement is the hard drive.

    I would check for unnecessary programs on start-up. How many of us really need Acrobat Reader running at start up ?
