I've only used it for L4d. Application wise, I haven't made any configuration changes, but now Microsoft sound recorder says i have no mic detected.

I didn't find any drivers for it on gateways website. How do i trouble shoot if something went wrong? :[

Don't know what L4d is but if your Device Manager looks like this you may be OK. Mic is part of the Conxant sound driver.

    What OS are you using?
Going to Sound > Recording you should have at least this:

I just went through this with new Win7 install. The drivers I used on Vista did not work. (some Levono drivers) But the one from Gateway did the trick.

I don't know what model you have. My 7811 has Conexant. I assumed they all do. You will not see anything labeled "mic driver" but it is part of the Conexant driver. I'm not sure what the HDMI driver is because I have never done anything with the HDMI.
