I bought my P7807u after reading lots of reviews where everyone said they could play almost any game on their laptops! I even watched videos on youtube where people played games like crysis, COD 4, COD WAW and others in high and very high settings.
I got my laptop yesterday and I installed Crysis warhead on it. I selected the high settings for everything and tried to play, but I got 7-10 FPS
!!!!! Then I selected medium settings and I got 12-15 FPS!!!!
I'm not pleased with this, can anyone tell me what's wrong? Is there something I can do in order to obtain a better performance?![]()

Thank you.

Yes because by large the code on crysis sucks and besides looking pretty is totally useless as far as coding goes (i wish game makers would lose money when they put out products this inferior no matter how nice it looks)
As to playing better. First get a better video driver, the stock driver that gateway ships with its GPU are kinda weak (see the driver sticky at the top of this subforum... remember to thank iaTa for his hard work)
Second get the patch... i cant remember what its called anymore(i think its like CCC or something maybe a crysis buff will help remember what it is). But it edits the code of crysis so its actually playable and doesnt impact the visuals -
With an "out of the box" 7805u, I get better than those FPS's running the Crysis Demo (which, the way I understand it, can't be as optimized as the full game can).
I'm thinking bjmorilloc, that you may have some other setting wrong.
Is your system set for "performance" while on AC in Power Management? -
Well it all depends on the resolution and drivers. Try nvidia 186.34 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com site and install with the modded inf. Those drivers should give little extra fps in Crysis. And ofcorse for High settings to get playable frames. The resolution cant be higher than 1280x7XX or 1280x1024.

Well he can try 1440 900 at High Settings in Crysis. That should give him more than playable FPS. You can also try googling CCC 2.21 Crysis MOD if you like, to make the game look better, and run a bit better. good LUCK, good thing the Crysis Fever is over in these forums XD

I am sick of Crysis. I really am...the game sucks, not worth playing.

While a lower resolution will make a difference, I'm getting better than that at 1920 x 1200 and so should the OP.

Tried playing in DX9 rather than DX10?
-
how do you downgrade directx 10 vista ?
-
If you have Crysis installed on your computer, if you go the your computers Games folder (located in your Start bar), Crysis shortcut icon will be there. Right clicking that icon will surprisingly give you a "Play DX9" in the pop up menu, selecting this option not only plays the game instantly but it also gives you more frames because you are running the game in DX9 instead of the [craptacular] DX10.
Using the CUDAATS mod in Crysis and CCC in Crysis Warhead will give you those DX10 extras in the DX9 environment and make the game on Level 4 or 5 setting look better than [Stock] very high settings and run better than very high settings.

Thank you all for your help, I'll try everything and I'll let you know after.
thank u again -
Are you running the game with the laptop plugged in? There's a significant difference in performance between battery power and plugged in.
-
I already downloaded the CCC 3.00 and it works perfectly! I also changed the power plan on my laptop, apparently someone changed it without my knowledge, but now the computer is running flawlessly!
Thank you all for your help! -

I cannot see any difference between ac power and battery power (Powermizer disabled). -
Just for information - what are the FPS's you are getting now?
I can't play crysis well on my Gateway fx P-7807u
