Check if there is a Minidump folder in the Windows directory.
-
yeah there is
-
Is there a Minixxxxxx-xx.dmp file in it ? (Date relevant with the BSOD ?)
-
Mini091308-01.dmp
-
Do you know how to debug ?
If not, upload it as a .zip attachment, and someone who knows how to debug, might take a look at it. -

hmm, but that's interesting about that itunes.exe
there was a new version released that fixed bsods on vista. maybe try uninstalling the current version and installing the updated one. -
-
Search o2sdx64.sys in your system, and see to which driver it is related ?
Do you have Everest Ultimate installed ?
And does your system have anything like "MSI O2Micro Card Reader" ? -
have you upgraded lately to itunes 8 ?
read somewhere there is a known issue causing bsods on vista -
heres what search results show

Check in add-remove programs, if there is an uninstall for the card reader driver.
Check the driver version of the card reader in device manager. You might find it in 'memory technology driver'.
Then goto Gateway's site, and see if there is a driver update for it. -
Driver Version: 6.0.6000.16386
didnt see any driver updates for it. so far the only driver updates on the gateway site for my model is the nvidia driver -
here you go

Check if there is a driver uninstall in add/remove programs. If there is, uninstall it.
Try out this driver, it looks to be the same -
2nd bsod just happened, i was listening to music in itunes and talking to my friend behind me and then the music started to skip, turned around, bsod.
note i didnt start BSODing until i put an SD card in, could that be problem?
i took it out, and ill try that driver, ill let you know what happens -
installed the driver, its an older version.
now its driver version 6.0.5744.16384
when i had 6.0.6000.16386
also it like deleted my audio driver, it had to reinstall them when i rebooted, and i dont think its the same driver, now its just High Definition Audio Device. -
Try doing the same stuff, you were doing before. If you come across another BSOD, reinstall iTunes, or downgrade to iTunes 7.
(Also run CCleaner to clean up the registry) -
well i just re-installed the drivers i previously had so that theyre up to date, and im gonna do everything i was doing before but without an sd card in, see if it does it again.

it is itunes 8. there are known issues. did you by any chance have any logitech or hp software/drivers on the machine as well ? logitech mouse, hp printer ?
i use a logitech vx revolution and installed itunes 8, but didn't get a BSOD as of yet using itunes and plugging in my 5G ipod to sync.
but i have had a few times where my machine just froze with itunes running. no recourse but to power down and fire back up....
if you and others did not take notice yet, apple has this nasty tendency to put stuff on your computer you were not aware of....it might help if you uninstall it.
i opted out completely from safari, but behind the scenes itunes 8 and some previous versions install mobileme into your control panel.
so far i have removed all these additional apple programs from control panel and it has not affected itunes or quicktime:
apple mobile device support (keep this if you own an iphone or ipod touch)
bonjour (keep this if you use other libraries on other computers on a network, or have an airport and stream your music to a stereo or similar)
mobileme (absolutely not even remotely related to itunes or quicktime in any way)
i just use itunes on my own machine for my own library and only sync with a 5G ipod, so far i'm running fine. -

there are some drivers that came along with it8 that have a shady history....
read more here:
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=543
it appears as though apple has 'silently' fixed the issue in subsequent itunes 8 downloads. because when i use itunes to check for updates it tells me mine is still the current version (8.0). the article above says if you downloaded it right now from apple's site, you won't have the same problems (he, he....you'll have different problems that will take a few updates to fix). gotta love apple for their code-writing expertise.....
you'll find another article that's more in-depth on that blog called "an inside look at apple's sneaky itunes 8 upgrade" u may wanna read that too.
anyway.... -
everyone does know that i DIDNT plug in an ipod right, i was just listening to music
-
Try playing around with iTunes with the SD Card in, and see if you hit another BSOD.
-
just uninstalled itunes 8, redownloaded it from apple site and am running it now, deleted all the unnecessary stuff that comes with it, now im listening to music without sd card in, gonna try this for like 15 minutes see what happens, if no BSOD, ill try with sd card in and see if it happens then
-
been listening to music for 30 minutes, no BSOD
-
Try out iTunes 8 now. (If you prefer it over iTunes 7)
-
im on itunes 8, the version of 7 i had downloaded was 32 bit *facepalm*
so i just redownloaded itunes 8 again. -
haven't you been reading the news? itunes is making vista crash, you shouldn't get it any more there was a update a couple of days ago (this week) that fixed the crashes you can read baout it at gizmodo.com
