    So I upgraded my CPU from a 2.26 core 2 duo p8400 to a 3.06 core 2 duo extreme x9100. I was expecting a bump from about 9k to 10k on 3dmark 06.

    I have the p-7805
The CPU is also not overheating, its idling around 23C

Instead I ended up with a score of 6k. I uninstalled my old CPU from device manager and installed the new one and it still isnt better. What am I doing wrong?

stress test it with Orthos or WinPrime also make sure your laptop under More Power Optionsis set to High Performance and go into Advanced settings and look at Change Advanced Power Settings, and look at Processor Power Management, and see that Maximum Processor State is at 100%
