I'm having bad FPS with TF2 on my 6831

TF2 just recently had a update on Tuesday for the Heavy. Ever since the update came out my performance has been pretty crappy. I was running the game on 16AA, 16AF, and all high @ 1440x900. This was easily playable now I dip into the teens with the lowest settings @ basically any resolution. I don't know if this is a driver issue or what, but is anyone else having this issue? Also can I use the latest driver release on Nvidia's site for the 8800M GTS on this?

I'm just going to go through the basics. Is your power profile in power saver mode? Put it in High Performance. Reinstall the update if possible. Reinstall the game if possible. You can try updating your drivers from the nVidia site, I know that they say that you should get the drivers from Gateway but you could always uninstall the drivers if something goes wrong or it doesn't work.

As for me having issues with it, I haven't played TF2 recently, I'll let you know if I get it installed on my new laptop today.

yes, forget gateways drivers, use the Nvidia ones
