Ok, so my GFX card under heavy gaming hits around 94 which is alot hotter than when i got it but that is aside the point.

Other than getting a cooler, and downclocking my graphics card (my cpu temps are fine) do i have any other options than new thermal paste?

Any one try Artcic Silver? (i should have a tube from my desktop build from 2 years ago or so)

or is there something really cheap that works well? xD

You need to check out the ICD7 thread :) Yes, people are using it on the GPU cooler.

You can just make sure the back of the notebook is propped up for airflow - some people just use a CD case. If you get a cooler, get one that pushes air up to the laptop, instead of pulling it down as some do. This is probably the biggest benefit you can get, way more than new thermal grease.

Also, the GPU is a major pain to get to on these (68xx - 78xx chassis). It's pretty much a complete disassembly. Just so you know :)

Temps don't change from propping up, and i've already taken one of these apart, so its not a huge deal for me...

I;m thinking i might just get a cooler, but i need one i can use on my lap too, and not just on a desk

Wait, why is the temperature rise since you got it beside the point? I would think that that is your first concern - why did it change?

Have you cleaned out your system recently?

If you having something impeding the fan from working properly (ours seems to get dust stuck in the "spindle" of the fans) then that would by itself account for the huge temps
