Looking for any help in the disassembly of the ID47 notebook. I've more or less got everything figured out except for a few little things. I don't want to break anything since it's such a beautiful notebook.

Any help would be appreciated! :D

Hi Nakano2k1 - Did you happen to make any progress with disassembly of the ID47? I am about to purchase mine now and would love to hear if you have any comments!

Hi, sorry if this reply is a little delayed, as I searched the net and found NOTHING on this subject.

Its quite complicated but straight forward.

Take the 10 Philips Screws out from the bottom of the computer.

Take the keyboard out. To do this, along the top, you will notice 4-5 tabs between the top of the keyboard and the frame with the speaker. Pop them down and out carefully.

    Disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable.

There are 4 silver screws holding the case together from under the keyboard. One is hidden underneath a ribbon cable on the left side, disconnect the ribbon cable, remove.

Take off the memory card reader dummy holder.

Then take off the back cover starting from the hinges side towards the front. There will be a little resistance due to stickers holding it together, peel carefully and don't worry.

Thats it, hard drive and one ram slot exposed, where the other ram slot is, I don't know.

I need to replace the screen of a ID47H, has anyone done it successfully?
I have tried to find pictures but I can not find them anywhere.

I would like to hear your experience disassembling this laptop, the screen with the digitizer is quite expensive and I do not want to waste $200.
