    In need of a HOW TO GUIDE for UPGRADING the PROCESSOR for the P-6831FX

    so as I was doing research on gaming laptops I got stuck on the asus g1s, Asus c90s, Dell XPS M1530, and Sager NP2092

    ...but then! I stumbled across this bad boy...the specs of the 6831 and the gpu was simply stunning for the price. The laptops I was looking to buy before were about 1700-1800, 15.4", 8600gts's but when I saw this laptop for only 1200-1300...I was convinced

    my only concern was...the less than adequate processor

    I'm a noob when it comes to upgrading laptops (never have done it before) and was wondering if some1 could guide me into which mobile cpu to buy and how to install it. I want at least 2.4ghz but am unsure of how to put that into the 6831.

    Snowsurfer does a great job explaining it in this thread (about halfway down the page). Just swapped mine and his instructions were spot on.

    The T9300 made a nice difference for me as far as 3DMark...haven't experimented much with real world improvements as I made the swap tonight.
