    I went into the Bios to try to increase the allocated video memory from the stock 8mb only to find that I cannot arrow down to it. Anyone has this lappy and was able to make that change? Or can you even arrow down to it?
    I went into Gateway Chat support and the CSR was surprised himself. He's escalating my issue.

    Update for anyone who runs into this situation:
    The Gateway CSR called me back today and said that the video memory is changed automatically as needed up to 184mb ram.
    Being from "the old school" I like to have control over these things ... still ... I guess that's progress.

    BTW, this week Office Depot has this very model on sale for $50 less (now $600 plus tax after rebates).

    If anyone is looking for a 17-inch laptop I can recommend this one.
