As the title says, I was wondering if it would be possible to swap the two LCDs from my Inspiron 9300 and 6860. I read somewhere on the forums that they might be compatible, but I'm not sure how to confirm if they are. Would save me a little money and get me a nice screen.![]()
Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

yep it will work but you will have to remove the bracket from the top and the inverter from the bottom which can be a bit tricky cause there sorta riveted on there but with a little patience and if you have a dremel
that will help some people pried theres off but its pretty delicate so you have to handle it with extra care.

How about the other way around? I would rather buy a new screen for my 6860 and use this one in my Inspiron 9200. My dell has 32 vertical lines and is washed out but it would function as a good backup machine for the wife if I downgraded it to a 1440 x 900.

i didnt have any lucky getting the 1440 screen working in my friends 1705/9400 even when i plugged the screen into his inverter cause the brightness controls didnt work proper nor did i get any screen to show up till it booted fully into windows and even then i couldnt get the brightness to work as it should . now the 9200 will have a different inverter so it may very well work and seeing as you have nothing to lose cause the other screen on there is fubar if it were me i would give it a shot .
Inspiron 9300 WUXGA screen compatible with 6860?
