Hello again everyone, I just installed these brand new drivers today and my cp is gone. I tried a variety of re-installs but I can't get the nvidia cp to reappear so my question is this: is there a program (except rivatuner) to correct my display's contrast, brightness AND radiance. I know rivatuner can help with the contrast but not with the radiance. Please share if you know a program that accomplishes this.

Your system should've created a restore point (in Vista anyway, been so long since I've used XP) see if you can go back to that restore point and get your control panel.

Also you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work I already tried that, and I disabled system restore a long long time ago. I simply create registry restore points.

perhaps uninstalling, cleaning your registry of any left overs, then reinstalling in safe mode.

I read that you uninstalled and reinstalled. Did you uninstall in windows safe mode and with driversweeper?
    - Restart the computer.
    - While the computer is restarting simultaneously, keep tapping the function key "F8" on the keyboard.
    - Now, you will need to select "Safe mode with Networking."

    Here is the program:

Be careful not to uninstall too many things like you chipset...lol

Have you tried to use Dox's drivers from here:

Oh an to answer you last question I could only find this for an alt cp:

Hey thanks for the help my man, I will try to install in safe mode and see if that makes a difference. I did use DriverSweeper after uninstalling the old drivers, so it was a clean install before too. I've read that some other people have had this problem with no control panel like me. Otherwise these drivers are great. Like 186.18 but without the graphical errors I was having with those. I already use nHancer but txs for the effort. If anyone else knows of a Nvidia Control Panel alternative for contrast and radiance settings, pls let me know.

Installing in Safe Mode makes no difference, still missing an Nvidia Control Panel.

are you missing it completely? like from the program files shortcut under start? or in the control panel? or is it missing from the right click context menu?

I am missing it completely, it is not installed. In fact I also uninstalled Physx from my computer and tried reinstalling like this. Still no control panel. when I install it says "could not install control panel" and when I run nvcplsetupint.exe after this it says "setup failed to read required display driver to be used with this package", what should I do?

Sounds like a bugged driver if you are installing the correct drivers with the correct method.

You should be able to RUN: nvcplui.exe to open the control panel. If that file isn't there, the control panel doesnt EXIST on your computer. Obviously you will need to find a different driver setup file, since the one you are trying to use is not working correctly, and not installing all the software you need.

It happens with the 186.21 vista x64 drivers @ laptopvideo2go and the 185.86 vista x64 drivers. I just reinstalled 186.18 but I still get visual errors with this one and sometimes the display driver crashes completely. (which is unacceptable when playing online games)

Then keep trying other drivers, don't stop when you've only tried 3. There are SOOOO many drivers out there, including modified ones from DOX and XFastest.

Still this problem persists... I was wrong about it being fixed. Once again I pose the question, for any new viewers to see, do you know of an Nvidia Control Panel alternative to change display radiance? Pls let me know if you do.

Still looking for a possible fix... right now I am using Rivatuner 2.24 to change contrast, but I still can't raise the radiance. For some reason with Rivatuner I can't set the GPU Overclock settings or any other hardware setting other than contrast brightness and gamma.
