Well finally got my processor, took about 3 weeks being in Afghan. Switched out the original p8600 with a t9900 it was 220$ off ebay with shipping. My old 3dMark06 was about 8600, my new score is a 9646 with no OC or nothing, sooo pretty good and hot pursuit is now playable :)

Pretty easy install took about 30 minutes because I didn't know where the processor was nor did I have the right tools, had to use a Gerber :).

Overall pretty happy with the purchase.

Picture is semi clear but was taken with my cam phone and I don't have steady hands :(

well then, for future upgrades, always take the battery out. As long as it is in, there is a small chance of shorting something out.

I just upgraded my P7805 to a P79, however I am just looking to get through to mid 20112. Hopefully longer than that but I go in with no expectations beyond that.

With the quad @ 2.93 GHz this thing is just a tank, just laughs at everything I throw at it. The x9100 is a better for some single threaded benchmarks but since I am so close to 3 GHz the video card slows down way before the CPU causes any hit.

Last night I was playing Dirt2 while the system was doing a full AV scan. Absolutely no percieveable slow down. These quad cores are a multitasking monster.............
