I want to put another hard drive in my P-7811 FX but don't know exactly how to go about doing it.

Would I Install it in the empty slot and it would automatically be recognized or do I have to change something in the Bio's?

Would the drive show up as a whole new letter in My Computer or would space be added on to the existing "C" Drive?

Also would the specs have to be the same as the stock hard drive or could I use any 2.5" notebook HD?

Any 2.5" notebook HD, and yes, you just pop it into the empty slot.

Directions to do that are here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=3879761&postcount=1

The only thing I would do in the BIOS is make sure the OS drive is still set as first priority so it doesn't bother checking the second drive during boot. It will show up as a new letter in My Computer.

Yes, just take out the 4 screws and the empty metal shield and pop that baby right into the shield, attach it with 4 screws (you'll need to get these) and slide it in real easy...

Yes, after your partition and format it.

A 2.5" SATA drive should work fine. In fact I have tried pairing the 200gb stock with a 2.5" 250gb 5400 SATA/150 Fujitsu with no problems.
