Post in the main forum by mistake.

I just got a replacement mmx Video card for my Gateway NX860XL laptop. The card died. I noticed that there is what appeared to be double stick metallic tape that held the heat sink to one of the other chips. The actual V card used thermal paste. Can I just use thermal paste in on the other chip when installing the new card?
