Every once in a while, about an hour after I start playing WoW on my P6831fx, the screen goes black for about 3-5 seconds and then back to the game screen.
Is anyone else having a problem similar to this?

Have you checked yout temps?
Your system might be getting over heated and the video card is throttling down to prevent itself from being damaged.
Try running CPUID's HWMoniter and after it blacks out check the temps imediatly and see what it says.
WOW shouldnt even be an issue to this card, but you might be placing it in a bad place (like your lap) or you might have alot of dust build up and need to clean yout rig -
Install another VGA driver.

new drivers, make sure air intakes on the bottom are not blocked, monitor temps while gaming.
the gpu usually goes 40c-70c -
i think personally its a power issue with the stupid AC adapter . See how hot your adapter gets when playing WOW after and hour or 3, its now the only game i have that will get my adapter cooking hot. Try running Vsync On and Triple Buffering On it will cap your framerate at 60 fps and while it wont be as smooth all the time its going keep the framerate locked and wont go into the 100s fps which is making your GPU run harder and hotter . Its worth a shot to test .

Ok, thanks for the help. I'll monitor the temps and see what I get. My adaptor does get pretty hot after about an hour of gaming, I usually just set it up near an air-conditioning vent if I can while I'm gaming to keep it cool.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the girder valve. Either that or the schneider clamp. I would look into both as a possible culprit. You never can be too careful.
In all seriousness, I had something similar happening to me and it ended up being the LogMeIn client. Not many people use this(remote pc control) service, so its probably not the fix for your situation, but I figured I'd throw it out there.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015
