I cannot justify a $300+ cpu such as the X9100. I have seen a couple X7800 in my pricepoint but my concern is that its 800mhz FSB instead of the 1066mhz.

From what i read the PM45 chipset can do 800mhz so id think it should work if the bios supports it. Curious if anyone has tried this upgrade...

It will work but expect some heat as the x7800 is a memrom 65nm vs the x9100 penryn 45nm.
