    I've got me a MX7515. I've had it for about 2 years.

    Right now the physical HD is partitioned into three logical drives. C,D,and Z.
    C=Windows/D=Documents/Z=Archive(for backup)

    Everything seems to behave ever since I separated them. Until now I had no major backup plan other than an external drive that had copies of my documents and a few other important goodies. I figured imaging my drive would be smart instead of having to go through reformatting, driver installation, as well as gateway junk cleanup.

    Problems come in when using DrimeImageXML to image Drive C. (Data Error: Cyclic Redundancy Check). I decided to try another freeware called SelfImage and returns with the same error. So it makes me think it is not a software issue. I did error checking through "check disk" and had to restart everything to make it do its business. I don't think I got any popups alerting of noncorrected errors. Repeated imaging steps and came up the same CRC error.

    Is there any way to run diagnostics on the drive, or to correct it without replacing the drive? Is it surely a problem with the harddrive? Would a reformat still have the same dilemma? Superthanks.

    WD harddrives have program called WD Diagnostics Lifeguard software at their website.

    See what HD you got in your laptop and go to their site and try something similar.

    Above program for my WD HD shows lot of info, including error codes which I can use to claim RMA if necessary.
