    Is the P FX series raid hardware or software?

    Is the P FX series raid hardware or software? I think its hardware because no drivers are needed to load it up, I just am checking.

    If it were software RAID, it would be dog slow and you'd know it. If you want to be sure, you can download either (1) Intel Matrix Storage Manager or (2) CPU-Z. #1 will easily show if its RAID, #2 will show you the chipset on the mobo and if it ends with an "R" then its hardware.

    It has an Intel ICH8M-E SATA RAID controller
