If it is compatible, I might want to trade my 9-cell for a 6-cell...

It should be, all other M-6*** batteries are. As I have one in my 6831fx right now.

I kinda want solid results, since I don't want to trade batteries with someone and end up with 2 incompatible batteries.

So if anyone's tried, please let me know!

no! that's a big negative on trading. a 6 cell battery while trying to game...hummmmm. 30 minutes of gaming and battery is dead. and that's a very big if you get 30 minutes out of it. i barely get just over an hour running my on full power and everything on. use the power options and get some where around 2 to 3 hours ....if...im lucky.

it should fit, because the 6832 has a 6 cell while the 6831/6860 have a 9 cell. im thinking it's because of the video card 8800m gts and not x3100.... i could be wrong, have been before....

I want the 6-cell mainly because I travel with my power brick, and the 9-cell is preventing me from putting the laptop into my laptop bag without removing the battery every time, and dust may collect in the connection port after repetitions of taking the battery out.

sorry..that makes a lot of sense then...

i think i would get a different bag over losing out on battery time or an extra 6 cell battery. but def would not trade for one...your losing out IMHO....

I have researched the models you have requested and thus the batteries are interchangeable. You may purchase either the 6 cell or the 9 cell for any P series model either Retail or Direct.
