I was thinking of getting a new screen, but the 1920x1200 are expensive. Is there anything out there and are they any cheaper? I'm not sure where to look.

I just replaced my WXGA 1440X900 to the WUXGA 1900x1200 screen
LG PHILIPS LP171WU3(TL)(B3) - It me about 30 mins to install it w/no problems - I initially ordered one from ebay - but returned it since it had metal tabs and the inverter attached to it - then ordered the correct one from here: http://www.blisscomputers.net/search.aspx?find=LP171WU3(TL)(B3)

does this new screen make the viewing angle wider? It seems you have to have the laptop opened to a certain angle for the screen (1440x900) to look right, which is kinda annoying

If yo are planning to install a Blu-Ray player, stay with the 1920 screen. I installed a 1680, and I'm mostly happy with it; until I play a Blu-Ray disc. It plays alright, but there are some artifacts created by the resolution scaling down to 1680.

I'm really not going to play blurays on the laptop... I use my ps3 for that.. I'm actually not planning on watching any movies other than just checking my downloaded qualities ;) But like i said i would just like the viewing angle to be wider.. and by this i mean I have to tilt the screen up/down just so to make it look like it's supposed to (be 100% in focus)

It just kinda sucks because i use the laptop on my coffee table and i have to sit up to use it, but if i sit back on the couch the screen isn't as clear so i have to tilt it down.. And you also have to be directly in front of the screen to get the optimal view.

I have no problem viewing this from any angle - there is definitly a clarity difference between the WXGA and the WUXGA which would attribute to the focus factor you wish to achieve

Original poster isn't even responding anymore. Anyway if you guys want a WUXGA lcd that has great viewing angles, I recommend the one I bought off ebay for 140 dollars. I find that the colors aren't as vibrant as the AUO screen, but this LG screen is pretty good for the price.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want a WUXGA or WXGA+ screen? If you are looking for a WUXGA screen I do know of a ebay seller where you can get one for sure and with acceptable quality (also has a no dead pixel guarantee)
