has anyone noticed the screen bezel is very prone to light swirls and scratches? i find this is the only area, the rest of the notebook is fine, seems this is the only area.

i used a very high grade microfiber cloth on it and i ended up with tons of fine scratches and one scuff like marks, i was very suprised, the cloth was damp as well. background light makes it becomes noticable sometimes. Ive gotten used to them to a certain degree, i want to try to prevent them in the future and possibly fix these ones.

does anyone know of a remedy? ive been reading around and brasso or wd40 helps reduce/patch the scrathes and swirls on plastics. Is there anything alse out there?

    thanks!

is it smooth plastic? use alcohol/water mixture and press lighter. if it's textured just wipe lightly to get dust off.

i had the same thing happen on my 6831 and it made me bananas :) i havent even bothered to clean my 6860 bezel in fear of ending up with the same results
so ive just been using compressed air to blow the dust off it cause this part is a dust magnet till i can figure out how to clean it without scratching it . its probably unavoidable though like it was cleaning the dust off my ps3 swirl city .

Don't ever us alcohol on and lcd plastic screen diluted or otherwise. Use distiled water only sprayed on a microfiber cloth. Microfiber cloths can actually scratch depending on the nature of the dust or debris. If the dust is abrasive by nature ....then it can scratch. So blow off as much debris as you can first then spray distilled water on a microfiber cloth. It's easier to have two clothes one dry and one wet and you'll be allset.

Microfiber cloths can scratch the plastic(especially cheap ones). I don't use alcohol/ go buy a good lens spray from your eye doctor that is safe for plastic and anti-reflective coatings.
There is a scratch remover for plastic, I got it from a local plastic manufacterer.....I'll try to find the name of it.
If you are going to use microfiber, don't use too much pressure or it will scratch.
