I have had my P173X FX for a bout two months now and have zero problems with it. Last weekend while playing WoW it abruptly shut down completely. I started it right back up and did not have another problem until yesterday when I walked out of the room (again playing WoW) to get something to drink and when I came back, it was completely shut down again.

I have checked my temperatures and everything is running below 60C. Could it be a driver issue? I also tried to install the Spore Creature Creator and I cannot get the laptop to run it at all. It acts like its not even there after I install it and reinstalling it several times.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Possible issues:
    1. Battery or power connection issues
2: Overclocking issue, overheating (Since you don't know the exact temps at the time of shutdown)
3: Undervolting issue. (Don't know if you undervolted though but it can cause shutdowns.
4: Hardware failure (Bad mobo, cPU, HD, memory)
    5: OS issue

    Things to try:
    1. Try replacing you ram first, if still there is an issue then HD, then CPU
    2. Try running the computer on a different powersupply if availbale.(Remove the battery and run it only on power supply)
    3. Try re-installing the OS.
    4. Try cleaning the computer from dust via blower.
    5. Try praying to which ever god you believe in and if none of these work, you may want to try other gods from other religions.

sounds like power issues, were you running on battery ?
gaming on battery may result in abrupt shutdown if the battery voltage drops under a certain threshold.

check your power settings, sleep after xx, hibernate etc.
    disregard any religious cr4p
