Hey guys. Thanks to the wonderful advice on this forum, I went out and got the 6860 today. After letting the battery charge for a few hours and all that, I'm just starting to work on it.

However, I'm not quite sure what I should do first.

I'm working on making a Restore Disk. Is it worth it to do a clean install of the OS or is that just overkill?

Also, PCDecrapifier.com isn't working (I think the website is down), and I'd love a program that removes all of the bloatware and junk that this computer came with. Any suggestions there?

Is there any other big tips you guys can give me to make sure I'm getting the most performance out of this badboy as possible while starting early?

    Thanks, Kovahig

Make sure all of your drivers are up to date, and tweak the OS to your liking. I'm sure its gonna be great ;)

This program works very similar to PCDecrapifier?

If so, I just used it on my older laptop and it works great, so I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks.

Alright. My next problem is figuring out how to disable the touchpad while a USB mouse is plugged in. I have no idea how to do it on Vista.
    Help!

    =)

Control Panel - Mouse - "Device Settings" Tab, if you don't have that you may have to install the Synaptics Touchpad drivers, but if you bought the laptop brand new it should be no problem. Under that tab there is a checkbox that says "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached". Check that ;)
