I am very happy with the outcome and performance of my laptop since I upgraded my P-7805u with a T9600 processor. However I started having heating issues with my GPU. My temp on my CPU goes up 35-40C but my GPU goes up to 95C even when I just play games for half an hour. When I don't play games my GPU temp hovers around 50C. I never had my temps go up that high when I had my stock P8400 processor. I don't believe its a dust issue since I already cleaned the vents with my duster can. Based on several threads that I've read should I:

    1) Update drivers - I have a 186.52
    2) Underclock CPU and/or GPU's voltage
    3) Update BIOS - Mine is 9C.17.00
    4) Add thermal paste to GPU (Probably the best method to lower temp but the hardest - not an option for me)

Or if anybody know something different, please comment.

Well that is way too high, are you OC'ng the video at all? With Furmark I never see above 75c even on burn.

You should first be sure you are getting full speed from the GPU fan. It is possible the CPU is drawing too much power causing the GPU fan to not properly spin. Of course if the fan were siezed up there could be an issue too.

If all is working properly GPU heat paste may be the next step. Unfortunately undervolting the GPU can't really be done and the modded BIOS files supposedly report a lower voltage but actually do not lower the GPU vCore.

I might have pressed some options in throttlestop and cpu genie but I don't believe I was overclocking since CPU genie show that it is currently not managing the CPU power. In throttlestop I pressed the turn off button so I don't think it's affecting my processors although it seems like it is monitoring my processors. I don't plan on overclocking so should I just uninstall these programs so it does not affect my CPU or GPU or maybe I can reset it to default setting. Currently it is set at:

    Core 600 MHz
    Memory lClock 799 MHz
    Shader 1500 MHz

If you want I can post an image of CPU genie and throttlestop to see if I am indeed overclocking. What button would I press to copy an image? Sorry for the noob question. Still new to this.

BTW, I do hear the fan to my right (facing the screen) but the left fan kicks in a lot more often and is a lot louder.

The left fan is the GPU. So long as the fan is really churning that is a good thing. As in a prior thread sometimes you really have to take your time to blast them clean. Also the system gas to draw air too so be sure the other inlets are blasted out well too...............

So after you got your new processor you made BIOS and Video Card Driver changes? That could be the issue. Maybe try some different video drivers?

I still use the p8400 but my GPU never goes past 66C even after 3-4 hours of BC2/Black Ops. I should mention I have applied ICD7 to the GPU as well the GPU's memory modules. If you get some spare time you should check out the disassembly guide, its really not that difficult and should only take you a couple hours, and it will also allow you to thoroughly clean the GPU's heatsink and fan(which gets really bad btw), because I know sometimes blowing air
    can make things worse.

I have not made any bios or driver change. The driver that I mentioned above is what I currently have. When I changed my processor to T9600 the system automatically recognized it. I think underclocking my GPU might lower a few degrees but nothing significant. I think I will give it a try and disassemble my laptop as the heat is really bothering me.
