Open the hard drive bay panel, you might need to buy a caddy to secure the hard drive in place if there is not an extra one in the spare hard drive bay. Put hard drive into empty bay. Close hard drive bay panel. Switch on, BIOS should recognise it automatically. If not set the BIOS to recognise it.

if its anything like my p7805u and you bought it new then it should already have a caddy but you will need hdd screws to mount the hdd to the caddy (4 screws total)

you may also have to ready the drive by creating a partition on it. the easiest way for me to do it was to plug it into my desktop and partition it from there using the software included (may not be included but usually downloadable from the manufacturers site)

once you create a partition you may have to format (fat32 or ntfs)

Ok, and would desktop HDD screws for 3.5mm work in the 2.5mm drive?

    Apologies for all these questions.

    Thanks very much, btw.

no youll need a different size screw. the most common laptop hdd screw size s m3x3. you can find these fairly easily at hardware stores but if you can not find em you can order them online also for real cheap.
