In the Review thread on the 7811 a poster brought up the fact that on his machine that he had to return (sounded like he had the same problems everyone has been bringing up) there was a different Keyboard layout then on the Machine he returned for that he did not have the problems on. On the one he did not have a problem with he said the windows emblem was raised up.

Thought I would put a poll up and see if there if.

    A) People besides that poster had a different keyboard layout (no raised windows symbol on the windows key)

    B) Coorelation btw the keyboard layout and problems.

My 7811 has the raised symbol and no problems.

I am a little confused, what do you mean when you say "raised windows symbol"? Maybe some pictures could help clear this up. Do you mean the little engraving / bump?

The only problem I found with the keyboard was the awkward inversion of the CTRL and FN keys.

If you look at the Windows Key logo your keyboard, you'll notice it has a "circle" surrounding it. He's saying that his windows key has the logo circle, but it's "raised" higher (like a bulge) than normal.

I believe this is what he's referring to as well as the Gateway P-7811FXs that have this have less lock up issues.

Eurasianman is correct, the logo is raised.

A member on here also stated that the laptops that have the keyboards with the "raised" windows logo has a different cover on the bottom of the laptop that allows the GPU to cool better. Do you think by any chance you can elaborate on what he means exactly?
