Does Gateway have a schematic of how to remove the keyboard from the M series? I have a bulge in my keyboard over my F12 Scroll lock - = and several other keys. I want to take the keyboard off and figure out what's causing the bulge and reinstall the keyboard.

Yes its on their website under support documents called component guide.

Basically you have to pop off the multimedia panel (thats why theres a line through the case right above the keyboard that seperates the multimeda buttons from the top of the keyboard.

First you flip the laptop over and unscrew the screw in the middle of the back of the case. Then you take the battery out and remove the screw in the center of that. Now it's time to flip it back over.
Anyways you take like a screw driver and pop off the multimedia panel thing from either side of the case. It's a bit stiff but comes off relatively easily with a screw driver.

There will be two screws holding the keyboard in. Unscrew these and disconnect the keyboard cable.

Thanks for your help Adam. Here's the link for the keyboard removal. My notebook is brand new so a few elevated keys seems abnormal. I take notebooks apart all of the time, I just needed the white papers to tell me how to take apart my Gateway.

Keyboard problem solved. Seems Gateway's slave laborers in China didn't secure one of the plastic joints correctly.

I successfully fixed the problem and my keyboard keys are now perfectly lined up. I'm not a genius. I'm a prodigy!
