The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    LCD Screen....any difference between the BB retail vs Gateway?

    See topic.......I think the BB retail version uses the Samsung for the most part (from reports here).

    Has anyone ordered the P series from Gateway (the comparable $1599 model) and care to chime in here about the LCD here? Is it any better or worse or same as the retail version?

    I have no desire to upgrade to a 1080p screen (I had a XPS, Sager, Toshiba before and find the 1650X1080 or slightly lower is the perfect res for me).

    The only thing that would be worth a upgrade would be if the stock LCD is that bad ...i.e. bad viewing angle, washed out colors, etc.
