I am thinking about upgrading the LCD on my Gateway 6860FX.

I have read thru the various threads here and believe I want 1680x1050.

Just not sure which specific brand/model to get. Or which ones are plug-n-play compatible with the 6860fx.

I like the stock LCD in terms of brightness/glossyness, etc but just want more pixels.

I have seen LG and Samsung models listed.

Which one would give me the same "look" as the stock?

Currently I think this one should work: SAMSUNG LTN170WP-L02 17" LAPTOP LCD SCREEN

    Thank you,

After doing some research I believe the LG LP171W02 line would be my best bet. Kinda confused on the available models.

    Ive seen 3 models.

    -LG LP171W02 (A3)
    -LG LP171W02 (A4)(K1)
    -LG LP171W02 (A4)

At lcdsuper.com they are all the same price ($268) and show the same specs.

Anyone know what the differences are and which one would be plug-play compatible with the Gateway 6860FX?
