So my REFURBED 7805u came in and runs well enough, but the backlight bleeds thru almost the entire left side. If I turn the backgroung black, the left side is medium-light grey.

Is there an app, settings in the nvidia control panel, other solution [or a combonation of the three] to minimize this?

If you have an AUO WUXGA screen stroke it with a lint free cloth - it will act like it's an air bubble and you will be able to gradually push it out. If you have an LG or WXGA+ screen and it's proper backlight bleed there's not a lot you can do really. You could try loosening some screws on the left side of the screen bezel as this sometimes causes bleed.

Well it is WUXGA, does that mean it is AUO or do I need to find that info somewhere?

    Thanks for this.

Edit: I noticed you got the T9900.

    1-What's your 3dm06 score?
    2-What's your CPU temp?
3-Is the .26GHz really worth the extra $200 over the P9700. I'm sure it would show some improvement in Oblivion/FO3 and Crysis, but I'm not sure it would be $200 better.

    To find monitor details:
Device Manager to Monitors to Generic Monitors to Properties to Details to Hardware Ids

Also I would just save your money. The New 32n and 28n i7 will be out and most prices with drop....if the p9700 is cheaper than do that....

    Thanks.

PS: iaTa, if you're still around I really like to here about the performance of the T9900.
