LOTRO Graphik glitches/breakdown

Hello there, to all who might have the same problem regarding LOTRO or other games:
I received my 7811 two days ago, had smaller problems patching LOTRO, but got a solution and patched up fine.
Now I have the following problem, and maybe you had it as well:
I started LOTRO, everything worked fine, video run very nicely, but when reaching the character creation page, the colours/colour pattern went berserk:
While the launcher was laoding, I was asked if I would like to use DX10, off course I pressed "yes" (might be the problem, not sure yet).
When I saw the messed up colours, I off course unchecked in options dx10 again (was very hard to find it, as the colourpattern is really horrible and one can hardly see anything). I didn't reboot (might be the next problem), but went on into one of my characters to check what it would look like ingame:
same thing. Looked horrible.
And I was unable to go into Options, as I was not able to decipher any of the buttons, etc. I found this link in the US foren, which seems to give some solutions for my problem, though all the screenshots posted in this regard look like "peanuts" to what I have. Well I will try them anyway tonight.

Did any of you have any issues like this? I did not change the video driver yet, and hardly made any changes to the system, well nothing that should have an impact in this regard (kicked out norton, etc.).
I tried to reinstall several different video drivers yesterday and always got the message "wont run with windows xp 32" something like this...well I am running as you are vista 64...

If any of you had similar issues, please do let me know and how you solved them.

By the way, this machine is an absolute beauty!! Slight ghosting but nothing major. I am very happy I took chances with that laptop and had it travel around half of the globe.

DEFINITELY update the video driver before even bothering with anything else.

Remove your existing drivers then:

1: Download the latest version (or if a friend plays also and has had success with a particular verion that may be worth trying)

2: Download the modded inf

3: Extract the drivers (just double click)

4: Replace the inf that came with the driver with the one you downloaded

5: Run the setup in the driver directory.

6: Ignore the error about unsigned drivers (your modded inf causes this) and install anyway.

7: Restart

8: Profit?


I personally am running the 178.13 as it fixed some issues with Warhammer for me. I also play WoW. Both games are very happy with that version but I'm sure the newer ones work well also.

EDIT:
OK, I installed 178.15 yesterday O_O rather big performance drop in game as well as 3dmark06.....around 4.500 '-.-'

I think....I will try some more drivers tonight..

But the glitches are gone with Dx 9, LOTRO still seems to have some "minor" issues with DX10 and Vista 64.
