I have a gateway laptop model MX6629 with a screen that has gone extremely dim. In order to still use the laptop, I want to connect to a LCD monitor, (NEC LCD5V). When I connect it to the LCD , there is a normal image on the monitor during the boot, but when it finally boots, ie, goes to the "choose user" screen the LCD monitor says "no signal".
Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks a lot

Have you tried the function key, and the up arrow? thats usually the screen brightness, or try and go into the power options and see if something got changed.

Thanks for replying. I just tried the function key and up arrow- no result. I can't see enough of the screen details to do anything.
