    Left 4 Dead 2 Demo freezing my computer

    Anybody else with the L4D2 demo experiencing any freezing?

    I am using Dox's modified 182.05 video driver. I haven't had this problem with any other games I have tried playing.

    The game runs really well on all high settings, but about 5min. into gameplay it just freezes, and I can't even alt+tab out or hit ctrl+alt+delete. I even tried turning all the settings down to medium. The game still ran really smooth, but it still froze about 5min. into gameplay.

    Any ideas on what could be wrong? possible video driver isssue?

    I have a Gateway P-7805u.

    Well i have had that same problem with full game and P7811-fx. Dunno why. I can play for an hour and not freeze. And then sometimes after few minutes. And for some reason, that game doesn't like when GPU is OC'd! Check that too.
    And i belive i am using Dox drivers too. Which versio, can't say right now, i am at work. I believe it was 185 version.

    Im having the same problem, but what happens to me is when i press E or TAB my demo freezes, I have a gateway also, but my computer is highly updated (i can play crysis on ultra high) none of my games do this either so idk whats the prob, i cant help anyone up that is incaped, anything to use the E button i cant do.I re-installed the game and that didnt help, and im out out of idea, if you know something plz tell me. thanks

    I re-installed and disabled multicore rendering and the problem seems to have stopped.

    Well if you can't get L4D2 to work properly, don't worry, I don't think your missing much. I wasn't impressed with the demo. :rolleyes:

    I downloaded that demo and I have'nt played it yet. I'm going to play it tonight and I hope this does'nt happen to me. I have a P6860, But seriously guys, put this kind of stuff on Steam forrums as well. They may be able to help and also if this is a bug.......... maybe work it out before the actual game comes out.
