    Lost audio device on NX860XL

    pretty much says it all...
    didn't install anything new...
    just lost all sound..
    on the sound properties it says no audio device found..

    anyone can help me?

    look to device managar under system tab from the control panel to see if there are any devices not installed, if so try installing latest drivers from gateway for your sound chipset

    solved..

    still don't know why I lost it..
    I download the latest sigmatel high definition audio codec and had no luck with it. I guess u can't update the driver because this latest release from june of 2006 doesn't work on the nx860xl.
    found on gateway site on from 2005 version 5.10.4717.0.. works great..

    although I have come to a solution this still happens randomly..

    every other day I loose the audio codec and I still don't know how.. help?
