Hey everyone.. New to the family.. Here is the scoop..

Love my new laptop.. Specs lited beow. I know I'm missing some info but I will update..

I keep getting the blue screen of death!..

When I check my performance, it tells me that a power fail caused it. Also it taes forever to shut off and doesn't. I also checked this and it tells me the touchpad is causing it.

How do I make sence of the blue screen error page? What code do I look for or how do I find the log to see if I can figure out what is actually causing it?

Gateway wants me to reinstall the video card, which I did.. and it still happened.

I also reinstalled the touchpad driver and so far it hasn't happened but I haven't shut off yet since it keeps giving me the blue screen when I have multiple screens and items running.. ( 5 items )

Anyone know of a good fix or has experienced it?

    Thanks!..

the easiest way would be a full on reformat. the hard way will involve you finding out exactly what's causing the problem. sorry i can't be more help, but i suggest a reformat of the entire O/S using the recovery disk.

Ussually near the bottom of the BSOD it'll say something about what driver or file the fault was caused in and have a code like 0x000000A8 with an error status message, if you can give us those messages (or you can google them) it will frequently tell you where the fault occurred which will give us a better idea of what is wrong.
