well few days ago one of our most distinguished members, was taken over by an altruistic wind and decide to dismember his laptop for the community good.
alas, it was a disaster, the laptop was damaged beyond recognition.
the noble sir went to bestbuy, explain his misfortune and got a new laptop.

saying that, the 6843 has an internal intel gpu, if you even consider gaming as one of the future chores of that laptop, i would shop elsewhere.

Unfortunately I am playing less and less games now. The glory days of Civ, MoO and BG are long gone. With 2 kids, budget is my main concern. The next game I want to play is Empire Total War which is due out early spring 2009, which means I won't buy it until sometime in 2010. By then hopefully another $600 laptop would be good enough to play it.

Indeed. If gaming is of little concern, the 6843 is a great laptop for the price. You honestly can't go wrong. The only think that bothers me about it is the red palm rest. The red back looks awesome, but something about the red on the inside looks weird to me. I'm sure its just me being picky tho. If they have it in stock, go pick that bad boy up.
